Pacific’s School of Dentistry is one of the nation’s top-ranked dental programs, and has served the San Francisco Bay area for more than 100 years.
“This is an incredible opportunity for Pat to head one of the most prestigious dental education programs in the country,” said UNLV President Carol C. Harter. “We are extremely proud of his tireless work at UNLV to establish our School of Dental Medicine as a premier emerging program in the west. He has shepherded a program which values community service as much as academic excellence, to serve many bright students and the state of Nevada well into the future. His appointment at Pacific is a great testament to his success here in Las Vegas. We will miss him, but wish him all the best in his exciting new endeavor.”
Providing access to oral health care for underserved populations is an integrated part of the school’s mission. To date, the school has provided services to more than 100,000 Medicaid-eligible patients, approximately 80 percent of whom are children. The school also offers a variety of outreach programs to elementary and high school students, seniors and rural communities throughout Nevada.
